How to Setup L2TP VPN on Windows 8

b.VPN offers its users six simultaneous VPN connections. Therefore, if you would like to use b.VPN service on six devices at the same time, you can use b.VPN application on three devices and manually configure L2TP VPN connection on the other three. The following steps show you how to setup L2TP VPN on Windows 8.

*Your username and password are your registered e-mail address and password on b.VPN.

*You have to be a paid user in order to use L2TP VPN connection.

Follow these steps to setup L2TP VPN on Windows 8:

Go to “Control Panel”, open “Network and Sharing Center”, then select “Set up a new connection or network”.

Choose “Connect to a workplace” and click “Next”.

Choose “Use my Internet connection (VPN)”.

Type the name or IP address of the VPN server you want to connect to in the “Internet address” box. (e.g. ca.usa.bvpn.com).

Enter a preferable name for your connection in the “Destination Name” box. (It is recommended to type the VPN server address as a destination name), then click “Create”.

Click on the Internet icon on the bottom right-hand corner.

Right click on the VPN L2TP connection you have just created and choose “Properties” from the menu.

Click on “Security”:

 For “Type of VPN” select "Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec)", then Click on "Advanced settings".

Check "Use preshared key for authentication" radio button and write (oorg5y8ajugiwgc) in the “Key” box. Click “OK”.

Check "Allow these protocols" radio button and check all the options, then click "OK".

Click again on the Internet icon on the bottom right-hand corner.

Find L2TP VPN connection and click "Connect".

Type your VPN account’s Username and Password.

Click “OK

You have successfully configured L2TP VPN connection on Windows 8.
